Show Commission sets fish opening on May 30, 1964 May 30, 1964, has been circled cir-cled as the opening day for Utah anglers by the five-man Fish and Game Commission, setting somewhat of a precedent. prece-dent. Normally the general fishing season opens on the first Saturday Sat-urday in June, which falls on June 6 next year. To follow this pattern would mean cutting cut-ting the season one week short, the Commission pointed out, hence the May 30 opening. open-ing. The general season closed November 30, 1964. Upon recommendations of the Department's Fisheries Division Di-vision the Commision adopted a few minor changes in the genera regulations. Bag limits remain the same except for Walleye Pike taken from the Provo River. Next year the angler will be allowed only two fish on this water instead in-stead of the five fish limit applicable ap-plicable elsewhere in the State. The other few changes were minor, except for the special agreements that were necessary neces-sary in the bi-State management manage-ment of the new fishing waters, wa-ters, Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell. |
