Jf W 1 s, I" t s 3 f tw i For film director John Guil-lermi- n, every new picture is an offbeat experience. His car-eer has taken him mainly to England and France and, now, finally halfway around the world to Mysore Province for "Tar-za- n Goes to India," starring Jock Mahoney. Prior to his Tarzan venture, Guillermin's forte lay in such comedies with Peter Sellers as "Never Let Go" and "Walse of the Toreadors," as well as such suspens-drama- s as MGM's "The Day They Robbed the Bank of England." "India of today is a focal point in the world mind," de-clares Guillermin. "It's a com-bination of centry-ol- d traditions taboos, dogmatic religious bias on one. side and fantastic in-dustrial development, sophisti-cation and education on the other. I think we've combined all of these in 'Tarzan Goes to India.' " Guillermin and Producer Sy Weintraub took a cast and crew of 100 persons to the province of Mysore for the new Tarzan adventure, filmed in Cinemascope and Metro-colo- r. "Perhaps the most important problem we face in this pic-ture;" says Guillermin, "was working with animals. Eleph-ent- s play a very imprtant part in the plot. In fact, you could call them In one scene alone, some three-hundre- d of the beasts shook the country-side as they came stampeding through a narrow pass directly into the path of Jock Mahony, who plays Tarzan. "In this scene, I'm afraid our star had to bow to the wishes of the elephants," said Guillermin. "He it out of there in record time!" Tarzan rounds up hundreds of wild animals in the spine-tingli-climax of MGM's "Tarzan Goes to India." Jack . on h take a (dianae let" ' ?(asegas NEVADA MOTEL Convenience E. "on the strip" i. Limited Engagement Hew Tarry On' film is funny, now at Academy Those of you who roared with laughter at the fabulous "Carry On" comedies will be cheered to know that "Carry On Teacher" is coming to the Acadamy Theatre. The terrific success of "Car-ry On Sergeant," made it in-evitable for a sequel to follow. However, the producer made certain that the stry would be fresh and original and of course tailored to the talents of the cast that had made the other "Carry On" pictures terrific hits. The result is a picture that is funnier than any of its predecessors. Ted Ray, Ken-neth Connor, Kenneth Williams Hattie Jacques, Joan Sims, Les-lie Phillips, Charles Hawtrey and Roselind Knight are all at their brilliant best. There are plenty of belly laughs in the picture. The pic-ture moves at a fast pace and is certain to have the audience in stitches. Produced by Peter Rogers, the film gives ample scope to the comedians who endeared themselves to the public by their crazy antics in the previous "Carry On" hits. lie w rv m A X i A x 1 If1 Ted Kay as the Dean, tries to give Kenneth Connor, as the science professor, some confidence before he goes to see the Inspector of Educa-tion s in a scene from the Governor Films release "Car-- , ry On Teacher," coming to the Acadamy.
