US ' Sfractoir to b h&lit m memorid to Word will begin in early spring The Clyde Foundation of Springville, announced today, that it would finance the building build-ing of a new addition to the Springville Art Gallery. Wil-ford Wil-ford W. Clyde, director and president of the foundation reported re-ported that project plans are well under way and that construction is expected to begin be-gin soon after the Nebo School Board of Education officially accepts the plans and proposals of the foundation. Work is expected to start early this spring with a planned plan-ned completion date of September Sep-tember 1, reported Russell N. Stansfield, Superintendent of Nebo District Schools. The new gallery, to be built west of the present art building build-ing is being constructed as a memorial to Ilyrum Smith Clyde and Eleanor Johnson Clyde. Sons and daughters of the couple are Wilford W., and Edward Clyde of Springville; Harry S. and Governor George Dewey Clyde of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ralph (Clara) Clyde Christensen of San Diego, California and Grover Clyde, deceased. "We have great confidence in the continued increase of visitors to the art gallery and have planned the expansion program pro-gram to take advantage of our central location in Springville adjacent to interstate and federal fed-eral highways, as well as for the enjoyment of the people of Springville and the state of Utah," Mr. Clyde stated. , The Clyde Foundation was organized on Dec. 27, 1962, and has as its officers and directors direc-tors the following members of the family: Wilford W. Clyde, Director and President; Edward Clyde, Director and vice-president; Harry S. Clyde, Director Direc-tor and secretary; W. Cornell, Director and treasurer; with Blaine P., Hal M., George D., Clara Clyde Christensen and David E. Salisbury as Direc- . tors. |
