Show Scouts schedule activities for annual week beginning Feb. 7 the official birthday of Scouting. Scout-ing. National Scout Sunday is Feb. 10. Scout window displays should be put in by units on Feb. 6 and removed by Feb. 13. All displays will be judged Feb. 9 by the Camping and Activities committee, and units participating partici-pating will receive recognition in the form of streamers. The Camping and Activities committee recommends that the window displays follow the theme, such as personal fitness, fit-ness, advancement, handicrafts, camping, nature, merit badge, etc. It is also suggested that "live" displays be planned during dur-ing certain hours of the day when scouts may actually demonstrate dem-onstrate scouting skills in the window. Annual observance of Boy Scout Week will get underway locally next Sunday when Scouting programs are held in all LDS wards. Official Scout Week observance runs from Feb. 7 through 13, celebrating the 53rd anniversary of the movement in the United States. In the Hobble Creek District the Camping and Activities committee is recommending the open-house type event to which the parents are invited, according ac-cording to Cecil J. Zimmerman, chairman. These would include Blue and Gold programs for Packs, Parent's night for Scout Troops, and Year-in-Review banquets for Explorer Posts. Each of these programs should include a ceremony of re-dedication to Scouting ideals Cub Scout Promise, Boy Scout Oath and Law, and Explorer Code. They should also include recognition re-cognition of unit leaders, and participation of the chartered institution head in the program. pro-gram.
