Show state competition at Hotel Utah Saturday, when Miss Utah National Guard will be selected from approximately 20 candidates from all parts of the state. Registration at 7:30 a.m., will be followed by newspaper interviews inter-views and pictures. A briefing period will be followed by in terviews with the judges. The queen candidates will lunch with the judges at noon and their talent will be judged from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. The candidates will appear before the judges in formal attire from 3:30 until 4 p.m. and the queen's dinner for all candi-( candi-( Continued on Page 9 Col. 1) Two Springville girls and a alt Lake City Miss enrolled t BYU, won the honor of Miss Springville National Guard JJpd attendants at the annual uard - sponsored program IJIhursday evening, at the Jun-,r Jun-,r High School. Six girls from pringville, five from Spanish fllork and one from Provo Olere judged on poise, person- ,ity, appearance and talent. II The honor of queen went to Tiana Allred, a senior at high :hool, 1 daughter of Mr. and s. Dale Allred; first atten-int atten-int to Linda Smith, daughter ! Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Smith '. The Springville queen and her attendants will be guests of honor at the local Military Ball on Feb. 23, and other special functions are also planned plan-ned in their honor. At the close of the program here Thursday evening, each queen candidate was presented with a lovely string of pearls from the National Guard. |
