Show Mapleton lews Mrs. Blake Everett Phone 489-4837 Mrs. Calvin Johnson and her three children of Twin Falls, Idaho, were visiting in Maple-ton Maple-ton over the weekend. Mrs. Johnson came to bring her daughter, Linda, who is going to attend the BYU this year. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Taylor have visitors from Finland in their home. Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Julkinen and two young sons are staying with the Taylors until Mr. Julkinen can find work. They want to make their home in this country. These people became acquainted acquaint-ed with the Taylor's son, John, while he was on a mission over ov-er there, and decided they would like to come to America Ameri-ca to live. used clothing and furniture for the children of the American Ameri-can Fork Training School. All of the J. C. Wives of the county coun-ty went on a tour of the school recently and their hearts were touched with the many things that are needed there. They are all going to contribute in some way, and the Mapleton women decided that collecting used furniture and clothing would be the best way they could help. They want only things that are in good condition. condi-tion. There are children of all ages at the school and even many grownups who have been there ever since they were children, so clothing of any size can be used. The ladies were told that many of the grownup girls and women are made extremely happy by the gift of a purse or a hat even if it is used. Dresses and coats are especially needed. They will call at your home and pick the articles up if you get in touch wilth them. Mapleton Second Ward - will miss the Ross Rieske family. They are moving back to Pro-vo, Pro-vo, where he will be closer to his work. Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Larsen are parents of a new baby boy born Saturday. The Larsen's oldest child is" a boy and then came five girls in a ' row, so they are happy to have another an-other son. Mapleton Ward sustained a new bishopric at Sacrament meeting, Sunday. Harold Givi-den Givi-den was put in bishop; Norman Nor-man Graves will serve as 1st counselor and Glen Calder as 2nd counselor with Ben Rogers Rog-ers as ward clerk. Stewart Whiting was released re-leased after serving almost eight years as bishop. Terry Hjorth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth left by train Monday morning for the East Central States Mission. His headquarters will be at Louisville, Louis-ville, Kentucky. This is the same area where his grandfather, grand-father, L o v e 1 1 Mendenhall, served a mission about 50 or 60 years ago.
