Show Harrison Conover, candidate for representative from the Fifth Legislative District, on the ' Republican ticket. Local publisher is candidate for legislature Harrison Conover, publisher of the Springville Herald and manager of the Art City Publishing Pub-lishing Company, Monday, filed fil-ed as a candidate for the House of Representatives on the Rebuplican ticket. He is representing the Utah county Fifth Legislative District which comprises Springville and Map-leton Map-leton and the three voting districts in Spanish Fork, east of Second East; also Thistle, Birdseye, Colton and Soldier Summit. Having served two terms in the legislature from 1953 to 1957, Mr. Conover is acquainted acquaint-ed with the procedures and problems confronting this governing gov-erning body. He served as chairman of the Public Health committee and chairman of the Cities and Counties committee. com-mittee. He has served as president of the Utah State Press Association Asso-ciation and as vice-pesident of the Utah Manufacturers Assq-ciation. Assq-ciation. He has been president of the Springville Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis club. He is a native of Utah county coun-ty and has lived the past thirty thir-ty years in Springville, where he has been prominent in business busi-ness and civic activities. He received his education in the Provo city schools and the Brigham Young University. A member of the LDS church, he has filled a mission in the Tahitian Islands. His son also served a mission there. Mr. Conover's wife is the former Margaret Bird of Springville and their children, both married, are Martin Conover Con-over and Mrs. David (Mary) Cox, both residents of Springville. |
