Show Club group hears interesting book Mary Ann Holmes was hostess hos-tess to members of the LCB club at her home recently and the group enjoyed a review of the book, "To Kill a Mockingbird," Mocking-bird," by Harper Lee, given by Mrs. Ina Bird. The door prize for the evening went to Norma Simkins. The club memebrs planned a canyon party for August 16, at Kellys Grove, to which their husbands will be guests. The committee in charge of party arrangements includes, Marge Miner, Margene Gottfredson and Bonnie Phillips. Birthday greetings were expressed ex-pressed at the party for the hostess; also Norma Simkins, Marge Miner and Colleen Beck. BIr. and Mrs. Max Huff and daughters Mary and Kathy have returned from a most enjoyable, en-joyable, two weeks trip in the east. Mrs. Huff and daughters went by train to New York, where they enjoyed five days of sight-seeing and then met Mr. Huff who went by plane to Palmyra and they all enjoyed enjoy-ed the pageant. Their rfon 'and brother, Kent Huff, who is filling fill-ing an LDS misison in the east, took one of the major parts in the pageant, that of Moroni, which proved especially especial-ly interesting to the family. They attended a missionary conference and visited several days in the area. Whjle in New York they attended several sev-eral TV and stage shows in addition to viewing the many places of interest. Stocks in Lindon show a sharp decline. |
