Show V ; ,. ,., . . f - i Richard D. Poulsen of this city leaves this week to serve two years in the Peace Corps at El Salva-dor, Central America. ' Mechanic gets appointment to Peace Corps Richard D. Poulsen, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Poul-son, Poul-son, will leave this week for a two-year tour of service with the Peace Corps in El Salvo-dor, Salvo-dor, Central America. He is the second Utah 'man named to the Corps. The first, John Montoya of Orem, is now serving in Colombia, Colom-bia, South America. Mr. Poulson will be in a class of 22 trainees from all section's of the United States (Continued on Page 2, Col. 5) Mechanic appointed to Peace Corps (Continued from Page One) who will fly to Philadelphia for the initial part of their preparations. There they will go to Puerto Rico for school-ine1. school-ine1. then will return to New Mexico A. and M. University in Las Cruces for additional training. He will then be home for a short leave before going to El Salvador, where he will serve as a junior technician in farm and diesel mechanics. Mr. Poulson attended Wa-' Wa-' satch Academy from the eighth grade through high school, then completed two years of instruction in diesel and heavy duty machinery at the Central Cen-tral Utah Vocational school. Since completing vocational school last year, he has worked work-ed on construction and service serv-ice mechanics jobs throughout the west. Most recently he was employed in Climax, Colo. |
