Show those seeking licenses or who will be seeking licenses, should check with local sportsmen's organizations for signing up for the course. Purpose of the law is to reduce re-duce all kinds of gun accidents and provide better safety and pleasure to persons going afield with firearms. Juveniles must qualify before license issued Juveniles planning to purchase pur-chase a hunting license this year must be properly qualified quali-fied in the handling of firearms fire-arms before such a license will be issued to them. The new license year begins April 16. The law requires 14 through 16 year olds must present a certificate showing they have successfully passed the required requir-ed course in gun safety, training train-ing and handling before they will be issued such a license. The same training and certificate certi-ficate is required of juveniles 17 years through 20, except those of these ages may also qualify by showing evidence of having previously been issued a hunting license, that they have received such training through the NRA, ROTC, basic ba-sic military training or comparable com-parable gun training courses.
