Show 11 J Mrs. Christie Lee for whom Open House is planned Sunday Sun-day to celebrate her 85th birthday. Open house set Sunday for Christie Lee Relatives and friends are invited in-vited to an Open House Sunday Sun-day honoring Mrs. Christie Lee on the occasion of her 85th birthday. The Open House will be at the home of Mrs. Mary L. Smart, 146 West Second South from 2 until 5 p.m. Mrs. Lee, who makes her home at 251 East Third South, is a native of Springville, born here October 16, 1876, to early pioneers, George and Anna Bird Sumsion. She has always made her home in Springville and for many years resided at 238 West Second South St. Her husband, Ernest A. Lee, freight agent for the D&RG railroad for many years, pas- sed away in 1S30. Mrs. Lee served eight years as president of the Third ward Relief Society from 1926 to 1934, and was Relief Society secretary under three presidents presi-dents over a period of some 22 years. She served as YWMIA president presi-dent two years and Captain of the Springville Camp DUP four years. She is active for her years and takes a keen interest in events of the day both local and national; lives alone and does her own housework. Mrs. Lee has a sister, Mrs. John L. Whiting also of Springville. |
