Show School board takes up routine items Business concerning erection of the new senior high school at Spanish Fork took up a major ma-jor portion of the time at the school board meeting Monday evening, the superintendent reporting re-porting that work was progressing pro-gressing as per schedule. The superintendent presented present-ed names of teachers who have requested a year's leave of absence ab-sence from the district to further fur-ther their educational training. He recommended to the board that the leaves be granted on the basis, that if there are teaching positions open next year, the teachers on leave be rehired but given no assurance of being placed in present assignments. as-signments. In each instance the final granting of the leave of absence should be predicated on whether or not a suitable replacement can be found, he stated. The board approved changes made by the superintendent in the school lunch program involving in-volving schedule of delivery of commodities. It was decided at the meeting meet-ing that the board begin their visits of school buildings in the district Monday April 3 starting start-ing at Goshen at noon. Supt. Stansfield reported that 12 people had registered for adult high school English class and he hoped for more. The board expressed the hope that the program could continue con-tinue and was pleased with its progress. |
