Roth-wel- l, son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Rothwell, 302 East 3rd South St. graduated from the U. S. Air Force Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, Fri-day. The Command and Staff College is a course for selected officers to pre-pare them for positions of greater responsibility in com mand or stsiff positions. After graduation, Captain Rothwell, a veteran of more than 14 years of service, will be as-signed as an instructor in the Air University's Warfare Sys-tems School, at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala. He was a 1942 graduate of Springville High School where he played football and basket-ball and was Mayor of the student body during his senior year. He attended Brigham Young University for two quar-ters before entering the United States Navy for duty during World War II. He served overT seas on Guam, Iwo Jima, and Japan. Rothwell, Spring-ville man, to be instructor at Air Force base in Alabama. and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology. While at college, he was also award-ed a commission of 2nd Lieu-tenant in the Air Force. Dur-ing his career in the Air Force he has been working in the nuclear weapons career field in Texas, Utah, New ) Mexico, England, and Alabama. He has been awarded the Asiatic Pacific campaign ribbon with two battle stars and the Navy Unit Commandation. He is married to the former Roberta Paul of Logan. They have two children, Roxann 9 and James Samuel 2. He and his family will spend their vacation in Springville and other parts of the state beginning this weekend. The Association com-posed of locally owned and controlled banks in the nine western states, has success-fully spearheaded federal leg-islation that regulates bank holding companies and confines such companies to the banking business; also the bill signed May 13th by President Eisen-hower to regulate bank mer-gers so that supervisory ag-encies would have to take into consideration whether these mergers lessen competition ,or tend to create a monopoly and required the agencies to get the written opinion, of the Attorney General in this regard.
