Show Page Eighteen THE SPRINGVILLE (UTAH) HERALD September 29, I960 Hed Devils meet lehi today at 3 Springville's Red Devils travel to Lehi this afternoon (Wed.) to play the Pioneers in a non-leag- ue encounter. She re-places Mrs. Delna Cazier who has been released, along with her counselors, Mrs. Reiske and Mrs. George Murray. Mrs. George Murray and Mrs. Gary Rasmussen will be counselors ot Mrs. Reiske and Mrs. Ber-ne- ll Jensen will be retained as secretary. Scout lodge scene of Kivvanis meet Kiwanians and their wives will journey to the W. W. Clyde Scout Lodge at Maple Dell, Payson Canyon Thursday evening for a luncheon-meetin-g and inspection of the National Parks Council recreation cen-ter. Paul Bowman will be toast-mast- er for the evening and will also tell of his trip with the Springville Scouts to the re-cent National Jamboree at Colorado Springs, Colo. President Howard Maycock will be in charge of the meet-ing which begins at the regular time 7 o'clock. Cougars play Fort Collins in Sat. game Brigham Young will enter the Skyline picture this week-end meeting Colorado State University Saturday night in Fort Collins. The two clubs should provide a real scrap, since the loser will enherit an early-seaso- n spot in the con-ference cellar. Mortician back from schooling Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Met-ca- lf are home from a 12-da- y business and vacation trip which took them over 4000 miles covering most of 15 states. As one of a group of funeral directors from over the nation, Mr. Metcalf was spon-sored by Berg Mortuary on the trip which included a specialized course given by the National Foundation of Fune-ral Service, at Evanston, 111. The course was keyed to the specific needs of funeral ser-vice firms and based upon the principal that sound operating techniques will result in better public service. Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf went by jet to Dayton, Ohio where they purchased a new funeral coach. They then traveled to Columbus, Ohio and toured the Belmount Casket Co. At State College, they visited Mr. Met-calf- 's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Garth Tingey and family before Mr. Metcalf en-rolled in the school near Chi-cago. Enroute home, they traveled through the Ozark country to Odessa, Texas, where they cal-led on Mr. Metcalf's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Har-old Metcalf and family. They also visited friends in Aubu-querqu- e and went through the Carlsbad Caverns. At Mapleton Mr. and Mrs. Condie Cran-da- ll were visited by her nep-hew Sharod Broadhead and his young bride one day last week when they were on their way to Logan where he is in his fourth year of college. Maria Tuttle, five year old daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Floyd Tuttle suffered a broken arm while playing at home. She was confined to the hospi-tal for two days. Last week Utah turned back Arizona's second half challen-ges to defeat the Wildcats 13-- 3 in an intersectional battle at Tucson, Arizona. They went by way of Reno, Nevada where they spent two days visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bloom. From there they traveled to Red-wood City, Calif., where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Johnson. They called on Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Collard at Oakland. Traveling north they stopped at the Paul Holley home in Seattle and With the Don Holleys at Richland, Wash-ington. They enjoyed the World Championship Rodeo at Pendleton, Oregon and toured points of interest in Canada. They were gone three weeks. Young Ben Court was in the hospital for a tonsil operation last week. He is the one year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmc Court.
