On August 18, the Forest Service reported that multiple uses on the Intermountain Re-gion's national forests had brought a record 4 million dollars to the U.S. Treasury during Fiscal Year 1960. The monies were accrued through public use of timber, grazing, land, ' recreation, power and minerals. Yearly, 25 percent of the to-tal regional receipts ($1,152,-96- 2 in this instance) are re-turned by law to those states and thence to the counties hav-ing land within the region's 18 national forests.
