Show m! Ufa taw j k pregw Division 5 M Men basketball tournament' moves into the second day of play here and at the Spanish Fork high gym tonight after com- pietmg tne tirst round o play yesterday. Sixteen teams are competing for the hoop crown and a berth in the All-Church finals at the BYXJ starting March 21. Five Springville and Kolob stake M Men teams are competing com-peting in the tournament. Of the five teams three of these teams will be seen tonight in the high school gym. These include in-clude Springville 5th, Mapleton and Kolob 12th. Games begin at 6 p.m. Springville teams playing in Spanish Fork tonight include Kolob 2nd and Springville 10th. Those games get underway at 6 p.m. also. On Friday night in Springville, Spring-ville, four championship games will be played here. Two losers' los-ers' games will be played at Spanish Fork gym. Championship games Saturday Satur-day night will be played in Springville's gym beginning at 5 p.m. Immediately following the championship contest trophies, tro-phies, donated by Springville Bank, Bank of Spanish Fork, Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce, Foodliner of Spanish Span-ish Fork, will be presented to the winning team, and other individual players and teams. Louis Clegg of Mapleton, is directing the tournament under the supervision of newly appointed ap-pointed division director Frank Buffo. Mr. Buffo held this same position several years ago. The Jr. M Men championship champion-ship of the Division was won by Spanish Fork 5th ward with Benjamin taking second. Delta 1st won the sportsmanship trophy tro-phy and Salem the consolation. |
