Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wilson Wil-son and daughter Jerry Lynn were weekend visitors in Mapleton visiting at the home of their daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones and with her father, Mr. Horace Hor-ace Perry. Mr. &' Mrs. Sylvester Allan are enjoying a visit with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Malhero and three children who live in West Covina, Calif. Their daughter and family will return to Utah with them and make their home in Provo where Joseph will be manager of the Firestone Fire-stone store. The Mapleton Needle Craft Club entertained at the home of Mrs. Harriet Nielson in Spanish Fork Thursday where the time was spent in making a beautiful two-tone quilt. A tasty hot lunch was served at noon to thirteen club members and three special guests, Mrs. Mary Smart of Springville, Mrs. Iva Lee of Spanish Fork and Miss Mildred Johnson of Huntington. Hostesses, were Arlena Holley, Millie Bird, Harriet Har-riet Nielson and Marva Whiting. Whit-ing. Fifteen couDles enioved a tret acquainted social in the Mapleton Maple-ton Second ward Saturday evening.. New ward members who were introduced were Mr. and. Mrs. Russell Walker, formerly for-merly of Provo and Mr. arid Mrs. Bruce Anderson; formerly former-ly of Richfield. Pot luck supper sup-per and games were the main diversions of the evening with Mrs. Ross Reiske in charge. . After spending two weeks at home, Jimmy Wiscombe has returned to Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma. He is the son of Elmer Wiscombe. Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Bills have returned to their home in Southern California after visiting vi-siting at the home of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Bills and with other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. George Stone and Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Johnson John-son have recently returned from a delightful vacation trip to Phoenix, Arizona where they were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shave and family. Mrs. Sadie Whiting is convalescing con-valescing at home after sur gery in the Price Hospital. She spent several weeks at the home of a son Dr. Quinn Whiting Whit-ing and family before returning return-ing home. Weekend visitors c at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gren have been Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gren and family of Keafns. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Talmadge of Long Beach, California are spending several days visiting at the home of her mother Mrs. Hannah Binks and with relatives in Springville and Spanish Fork. A church supper, served, open house style from six o'clock to seven thirty was enjoyed in the Mapleton ward last week which was attended by a record re-cord crowd. The long tables were beautifully centered with pink fiber tissue floral pieces made by the decorating committee. com-mittee. The contributions were generous and enough money was raised to purchase the Don Roundy property on the south of the church to be used for a future parking area for the church. The Mapleton Second Sec-ond ward are joining in this project. Mr. Sylvester Allan accompanied accom-panied by his brother Ira spent several days at Lake Meade where they enjoyed fishing. Camp Mapleton DUP held their February meeting at the home of Mrs. Alice Johnson where the lesson on "Pony Express" Ex-press" was given by Norma Cox.
