Show Norwegian Composers Reviewed at Club Mrs. George Brailsford entertained en-tertained for members of the Federated Music club at her home Friday evening, when a lesson on music from the Scandinavian Scan-dinavian countries, was given. The president, Mrs. Arthur Finley was in charge. Describing the music as gay, vigorous and majestic, Mrs. Arthur C. Boyer presented the lesson material for the program pro-gram and Miss Alzada Wilmott had charge of the music. The lives and works of great composers from Norway, Sweden, Swe-den, Denmark, and Finland including Edvard Greig, Jean Sebelius and others were described des-cribed and their compositions rendered. Mrs. Ellen Anderson gave a vocal solo and Miss Naomi Na-omi Boyer, a piano selection by Greig. The group joined in singing a number of folk songs by Norweigian composers. The meeting concluded with light refreshments served by the hostess. |
