Show Current Book Reviewed At Literary Club Mrs. Blanch Beal gave a delightful de-lightful review of the current book, "Green Grows Ivy," an autobiography of Ivy Baker Priest, U. S. Treasurer, at the Ladies Literary club meeting meet-ing Friday evening of last week, at the home of Mr. J. Y. Bearnson. The writer emphasized a point that the poverty which she experienced in her early life and the experience she had in politics with her mother, moth-er, had much to do with her reaching the position she now holds. Although it was luck that she was in the right place at the right time to be ap- pointed, the book reveals that she had worked in politics much of her life. Business was taken up by the president, Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson and the meeting was preceded by lunch served to eighteen members and guests, the latter including Mrs. Blanch Ostlund, Mrs. Norma Bird, Mrs. Ella Reynolds and Mrs. Augusta Meteer of Richfield. |
