Show Boole on Religions Enjoyed by Club Mrs. Mary Schwartz reviewed re-viewed the book, "Faith and My Friends," by Marcus Bach at the meeting of the Pari Passu club held at the home of Mrs. O. J. Peay Thursday evening. The book described widely : divergent religions, the back-i back-i grounds of which were explained explain-ed by the author from the associations which he had had . with friends, including the : Trappist Monks, a monastery of which is at Huntsville; Utah; the Vendantists, des-i des-i cribed as a philosophy rather : than a religion ; the Hutterites . in which all is share and share alike; the Penitentes which be-i be-i gan with the Third order of i the Franciscon monks and the . Swendenborgian religion which . has a profound respect for the L Bible. The author concluded that - there is one God, known by many names; one faith, livec in many beliefs and one truth, seen through many minds and one worship, expressed in many 1 forms and that religion is a i life to be lived, if we can find r the way. Business was taken up by 1 Mrs. Dale Hardy, president and the club voted to participate in the community benefit pro- ject. Mrs. Finley Roylance was I named chairman. Mrs. Rex Wolsey read appropriate ap-propriate verse at the beginning beginn-ing of the meeting and luncheon lunch-eon was served at the close to eighteen members. Next meeting is to be January Janu-ary 22, at the home of Mrs. Kent Palf reyman. |
