Leah Mae Averett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Von Averett is among those making preparations prepar-ations to leave for the annual event. She is a graduate of the BYU and has signed a contract con-tract to teach third grade at Tooele the coming school year. All who go from the various communities to take part in the pageant must have been active in church work and must be recommended by their bishop. bish-op. Those taking part from here will board a special bu: in Salt Lake City Friday evening even-ing and will be gone three weeks. Springville will be well represented rep-resented in the famous Hill Cumorah pageant to be presented pre-sented early in August at Palmyra, Pal-myra, New York. In addition to the Springville missionaries in that area, who assist with the annual production, six girls are planning to leave here Friday Fri-day evening to take part. Carolyn Sumsion, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion Sum-sion will be a member of the cast. A former student of the BYU, she has been employed the past year as a private secretary sec-retary for Douglas Aircraft at Inglewood, Calif., and plans to resume her studies at the BYU this fall. Roberta Booth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Booth has signed to go, leaving her secretarial sec-retarial work at the BYU where she was also a student last year. Two others who are looking forward to a vacation and sight-seeing trip along with the experience of taking part in the pageant are: Colleen San-ford, San-ford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs: Howard Sanford and Lynette Huff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Huff. Colleen is employed All packed to leave for Palmyra, N.Y., to take part in the LDS church pageant are Springville girls, Carolyn Sumsion, Lela Ann McKenzie, Roberta Booth, Leah Mae Averett, Colleen Sanford and Lynette Huff. They will board the bus in Salt Lake City Friday evening and return in three weeks. |
