Show MAN OF VISION 1 I ; ; : . --. A The 175th anniversary of tha birthday of Simon Bolivar will toe celebrated July 24th. The Great Liberator, who freed six Latin American countries from Spanish rule, was born in Caracas, Cara-cas, Venezuela, ' in 1783. Ha established the first constitu-, tional governments in Latin -America and was the first to: set forth ideas for Pan-Amer-( ican cooperation and solidarity, in calling the Congress of Panama Pana-ma in 1826. Although the Treaty of Confederation Con-federation signed at the Congress Con-gress did not endure, Bolivar'3 ideal of individual security for the American republics, through the fair practice of international internation-al Justice, has taken concrete form in the Organization of American States. In recognition of this great man the United States Post Office is issuing two stamps til denominations of 4 cents and 8 cents as part of its "Champions "Cham-pions of Liberty" series. The same day a commemorative, ceremony will be held at the Simon Bolivar statue in Central Park in New York City. In Colombia, Bolivia, Peru and Panama countries which he liberated Bolivar's birthday wilf be marked with special Simon Bolivar events. In his native Venezuela and in Equador it is a national holiday. As an educational service, Creole Petroleum Corporation, a United States company and Venezuela's largest oil producer, has published a full-color "Historical "His-torical Map of the Life of Simon Bolivar."
