The Smith-field Smith-field club of the Cache league has taken a spurt that promises to make trouble for the league leaders, who have been hovering around the coveted place for the last six weeks. The team has worked hard to get out of the cellar, which place thev held for some time, and they are now bound for the top. Most of the players are hometown home-town men. Asa Dewey and Harrv Kil-patrick Kil-patrick have been doing most of the heaving, but now the staff has been I strengthened by the addition of Kil-! Kil-! burn. Kilburn and Dewey are both lefthanders. Mann is the catcher. Kidman, Kid-man, Ecklund, Kilpatrick and Hancev are making up a fast infield. In the outfield Roskelley, Seamons and Waite have played consistently throughout the season. V . |
