DISABLED FIGHTERS ASK FORJRAIisG i Four Hundred Applications Received by .Vocational Board in June. i ' i "During the month of June more than 400 men who had been disabled in the service applied at the office of Ralph Price, federal advisor for the vocational voca-tional board, seeking vocational training train-ing at the expense of the government. Mr. Price says during the last week alone more than 100 men have applied and the number is fast growing. The latest case to be acted favorably upon by the vocational board at "Washington, "Wash-ington, D. C, is the case of Lieutenant J. A. Ealderstou, now of lalt Lake, formerly of Bountiful. Lieutenant Bal-derson Bal-derson is anxious to finish his course at the University of Utah in mining engineering. He was disabled while serving with the aviation corps, as he contracted influenza-pneumonia from high altitude flying prior to leaving for overseas duty. lie is rated as an army corps training flyer. Having recovered from his illness he is now anxious to continue his schooling school-ing and. he says, though he has waited a long time for his application to be passed on. he feels grateful to Uncle bam for the opportunity. Another case just passed on favorably favor-ably by the board is Merl H. Gibson, of Knoch, Utah, who has been granted a year's training in agriculture, at the Utah Agricultural college. |
