LONG RUN" g tict mm & 0fS II IL CONSIDER the FUTURE Buying a Motor Car Today A noted authority in a recent issue of Motor says: "The work now in progress in some of the leading automobile auto-mobile factories will result in the cutting of car weights to a startling degree. The day of the heavier cars is past; they are to become obsolete. Chassis and motor designs will be altered to lend themselves to simpler and lighter construction. "Aluminum and pressed steel will come in for far greater use. Engine and chassis lubrication will be made more certain o' operation. The misunderstanding that weight is essential to easy riding will be corrected " THE development of the Marmon 34 was along these very lines of scientific construction covering a period of about three years of thorough research, experimenting and testing. Without sacrificing strength or durability a car was produced 11 00 pounds lighter than the conventional car of similar power and size. The design was greatly simplified; a deep, low-hung pressed-steel frame adopted, and aluminum extensively, employed. Its motor lubricating system automatically provides lubrication in proportion to the power Nv being used. The adoption of oilless bearings displaced numerous lubri cation points found in conventional construction. This is the car that demonstrated that low center of gravity, minimum mini-mum of unsprung weight, perfect balance and centralization of load between the two axles produces riding ease that surpasses cars of much weight.
