Two of the , three aviators in the army's transcontinental transconti-nental air derby who started this morning morn-ing in a race for the honor of being first to reach the Golden Gate after twice crossing the continent were tonight out of tho contest with disabled machines. Lieutenant E. C. Kiel, who started from Sidney, Neb., was put out of the running by a forced landing nine miles west of his starting place, when the undercarriage of his machine was wrecked. |
