Show SCOUTS TO HELP IN SMOKE PROBE j Organization Will Gather . Data From Homes to Aid ! Investigation. Cavd. calling for data necessary for the smoke invest 'gation being carried on in Salt Lake will be resented to every house in the city by the Boy Scouts within with-in the next few days, it was announced ! yesterday by Oscar A. Kirkham, scout commissioner. The scouts have been appointed ap-pointed to gather this information by'the smoke investigation committee, and citizens citi-zens will aid in the probe by helping the boys procure the facts. v The cares call for the type of heater used in the building, whether steam, vapor or hot air, and whether or not there are any stoves, and what form of heat Is used for cooking. They also ask for the number of tons of coal and coke usei In a year. For thf purpose of effectively carrying out the canvass, the city has been divided di-vided into eight districts, within each of which five teams will work. Each team and each individual scout has been assigned as-signed a definite section in which to work. Thirty boys and two adult supervisors super-visors will make up the working force of each district. When collected, the cards will be filed at the scout headquarters, where they will be classified and turned over to t the smoke investigation committee. A ' request re-quest has been sent the various churches to inform their congregations that the scouts will make the house-to-house visits, so that householders will know that tho boys are authorized to do the work. |
