Show JOBS SOUGHT FOR IT U It Organizations Cooperate to Solve Unemployment Problem. Representatives of the Red Cross, ihe American Legion, the Elks club, tho Salvation Sal-vation Army and the Everyman's club, met yesterday in a special session called by the Salt Lake county Red Cross home service department. The representatives of these organizations agreed to cooperate cooper-ate in relieving the unemployment in Salt Lake by means of centralization of effort. ef-fort. She said they were not seeking charity but merely a chance to earn their living, and urged that all agencies coop-crate coop-crate in finding employment for them. R. M. MenJflson-of the Chilian relief committee, com-mittee, who assists in placing the unemployed unem-ployed and investigating cases, also spoke. Thedore KHieen of Everyman's club, said his organization could put a man in every open position, but that the need was to find the positions. He urged business busi-ness men, managers of industries and others to notify any of the cooperating organizations of openings. J. Clarence Wood, in charge of the American Legion state employment bureau bu-reau in the Ness building. said that though his department was organized to find employment only for service men, thev would cooperate. S. W. Wilson of the Elks club, said his organization aimed to find employment for service men and would cooperate. Adjutant J. C. Douglas of the Salvation Army, said his organization had many calls, and said that cooperation should be arranged in preparing for future demands. |
