Show RETURNED SOLDIERS IIEI JjllClIE Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, June 20. Huntsville's official welcome to tho returned soldiers, sailors and marines of the valley was held this afternoon and evening, with about forty-five forty-five of the fiftv-lour boys who responded to the call present. Three boys made the supreme sacrifice. They were David Jespei3on, killed at the battle of Chateau Thierry; Frank Jledell, who died of influenza influ-enza at Camp Kearny, and Lawrence Felt, who died of shell shock after arriving ar-riving home. Four boys are still in the service. The program opened today with selections selec-tions bv the Ladies' Military band. The welcome home address was delivered by William Whyte. and the response on behalf be-half of the soldiers was made by Fred Berlin, who served with the Forty-second division in seven battles, beginning in the Lorraine sector and serving up to the bactle of Sedan. The principal address, "All Honor to Our Boys," was delivered by D. D. McKay. Miss Josephine Shorten rendered two solos. ' . , After the program the Ladies' band gave a short program, followed by a baseball game, in which the soldiers defeated de-feated the "stay-at-homes" by a score oi 11 to 5. , ,. At 6 o'clock a banquet for the soldiers, the people of tho community and other guests was served in the Kollef society hall In the evening a dance was given in Peterson hall. The program was arranged ar-ranged under the direction of the ward amusement committee. |
