Show SPECIAL SESSION CALLS MEIERS' Legislators Favor Rushing of Business; Speaker to Be Chosen. With ttio opening of tho special session ses-sion of the legislature set for Monday, it is expected that a majority of the members will arrivo in Salt Lako by tomorrow night. Democratic members will probably hold a caucus as soon as a sufficient number of the majority party have arrived, and it is possiblo that the governor may outline to them the proposals he has in mind for presentation. pres-entation. The question of selecting a speaker for the lower houso will be taken up, and it is probable that the caucus will areo upon a candidate, so that the organization of tho house may bo completed without delay when the session opens Monday. It is possible that a few of the members mem-bers may bo missing from their scats when the session opens. In tho rural communities, harvesting is under way in mnnv instances, making it difficult, if not impossible, becaut-e of tho shortage of farm labor, for tho farmer n mbers of the legislature to leave at this time. However, it is expected that a large majority ma-jority of tho out-of-town members will be on hand. The general sentiment expressed by nil members of tho legislature who are now in Salt Lake, or who have been here since Governor llatuber'jer called the special svpsion. is to ju-h the buMiiess turough with all possible dispatch. Some have even gone t-o far as to express the belief that "tho work before them could be handled in one or two days, that adjournment ad-journment might take place by the middle mid-dle of the w.ek if the governor weru rendv to present his pngratn.
