Show SUSPECTS OELO II MEM Two Arrested by Sheriff for Wandamere Line Fare Box Theft. I Ellsworth Ball, 23 years of age. and Grant Ball, - years of age. of 1X2$ Roose-I Roose-I velt avenue, are held in the county jail ' following their arrest yesterday by Chief j Criminal Deputy Sheriff R. M. Beckstead, ! Deputy Arthur Waller and Deputy Sheriff Albert ?.L J. Prichard on suspicion of being be-ing implicated in the robbery of a Wandamere Wand-amere street car at Thirty -third South and Seventh East streets last Sunday night. Both were employees of the street car company, according to members of the sheriffs staff. One was employed as a rail welder at the time of his arresu The other was formerly employed as a conductor, con-ductor, it iy said. The robbery occurred at 11 o'clock at night while the street car was standing at the end of the Wandamere line. The trolley was pulled from the wire. Then Conductor G. H. Benfield and Motorman G. II. Walters were covered with pistols by one of the two men. The other robber rob-ber took the fare box from Its fastenings at the rear of the car and both men disappeared. The fare bos was later found lying 300 feet south of where the robbery occurred, broken open and its contents removed. The fair box was said by car company officials to have contained about ?50. This is the first arrest in connection with the robbery. A reward of $b00 was offered by the officials of the L'tah Light & Traction company for the arrest of tho . thieves. |
