The high cost of living and the investigation of food prices will be taken up at the conference of governors at Salt Lake City August 12, it was announced here today by ; Governor Frederick Gardner. A committee will be appointed to go j into the matter, Governor Gardner j said. ; According to computations from I certain reports here, 34 cents was the average advance for food prices I in fifty cities in the country. The figures show that in July Salt Lake ranked in fifteenth place in low ! average retail cost of forty princi-; princi-; pal articles of focd as compared j with sixteenth place during June, j and shows a one month's advance of 20 cents fcr all articles combined.
