Show L. D. S. PARTY OFF FOR HAWAII TODAY To attend the dedicatory services of the new Hawaiian temple of the L. D. S. church at Laie, a party of six church officials, consisting of President Heber J". Grant, President Anthon H. Lund, President Rudger Clawson, Apostle Stephen Ste-phen L. Richards, Presiding Bishop Charles W. Nibley and Arthur Winter, treasurer of the church, will leave Salt Lako this morning for San Francisco. The party will sail from San Fran- i Cisco next Saturday on the steamship JIaui, for Honolulu. The party also plane to return on the same vessel, which will stop In the islands a week or more. It is probable that the dedication of the new edifice will take place Sunday, November No-vember 30. President Grant will celebrate his sixty-second birthday anniversary on the islands, as the date falls on November 22. Mr. Winter will attend especially to business regarding holdings of real estate of the church in Hawaii. As there are about 10,000 members of the church in the islands. It is expected that the attendance at the event will be the largest ever held there, and Hawaiian newspapers are giving considerable space to the occasion. Duncan M. McAllister, formerly recorder record-er of the Salt Lake temple, has been appointed to have charge of similar work at the new temple. President Grant will conduct the dedicatory, services, Special music is being arranged for the occasion. The Canadian temple at Cardston, Canada, is also rapidly nearly completion comple-tion and it is expected will be dedicated soon. |
