Amendments recommended by the committee com-mittee provide that no conscientious objector ob-jector can become vt beneficiary, and that soldiers aro to be favored in administrative administra-tive positions In connection with the development de-velopment of the various colonizing projects. Summing up the advantages of the bill, the report said it would open the way to work and homes on the land for the nation's na-tion's war veterans; provide for the development de-velopment of large tracts of land now held by private owners, and provide temporary tem-porary employment for large numbers of discharged soldiers and sailors while the land projects are being developed. The minimum age for public land homestead home-stead entrants would be reduced from 21 to,13 years under a bill by Senator Smoot, .Republican, Utah, passed today by the senate. The measure is designed principally prin-cipally to aid discharged soldiers and sailors. |
