The hypnotic cure for shell-shocked soldiers who have become partially paralyzed, deaf or blind Is described in the British Medical Journal by Dr. William Brown, ex-major in the British army medical ser-ice. Ho hypnotizes patients, makes them relive the experiences of war causing the disability, and then by suggestion sug-gestion restores full or partial use of the disabled faculty. Of 121 cases of loss ol speech which passed through Dr. Brown's hospital In sixteen months, every one was successfully treated. One soldier, partially burled by an explosion ex-plosion and afterward rendered unconscious uncon-scious by a shell, suffering blindness, deafness deaf-ness and 'paralysis.' was treated thus: "f sent him to sleep," said Dr. Brown, "and then made a sudden noise by banging bang-ing two books together. His eyelids flickered flick-ered and I found he could hear.
