Show I. W. W. CONVENTION DEVELOPS FROST (Chicago Tribune Special Service.) CHICAGO, May 12. A deep coating of frost formed on the I. W. convention at the West Side auditorium today when only about forty of the original fifty-live delegates put in their appearance,. Chairman Chair-man Embree of Butte, Mont., was among the absentees, as was also secretary secre-tary Whitehead. One of the wubblies explained ex-plained that Whitehead was still in bed at the Washington hotel and would probably prob-ably spend the rest of the day in slumbering. slum-bering. Ed. Walqutst was appointed chairman pro tern. The session as enlivened en-livened by a discussion as to whether delegates should travel on Pullmans or day coaches. The majority seemed to be of the opinion that day coaches were good enough. A letter of resignation from a member of the grievance committee was read. Til's wobbly gave as his reason for withdrawing with-drawing that habitual drunkenness interfered inter-fered with the performance of his duties. His resignation was accepted. |
