Show Tfaoasands of Books at the Command of Salt Lakes Readers T? 00B:s aro here, T3oka are -ti there, books are scattered everywhere." This is the cry of the librarians, under the direction of Miss Joanna Sprague, who are conducting con-ducting the yearly inventory of the children's department of the free public library. Miss. Sprague said an inventory of the 92,000 books at the library will take some time. There are 10,-000 10,-000 books on the shelvos of the children's chil-dren's department. A card for each book is carefully kept so that an inventory can be made. This year's work is greater than ever, as more books have been added to the library in the past twelvemonth than for any similar period. It is estimated that there are 70,000 books at the main library on State street. |
