Special to The Tribune. PROVO, May 12. Dr. Helper John Richards, Utah pioneer, died at his home in this city this morning, of a complication complica-tion of diseases incidental to old ase. He is survived by his widow, Mary J. Richards, Rich-ards, and the following daughters: Mrs. F. W. Taylor, Provo; Mrs. J. T. Har-wood, Har-wood, Mrs. A. O. Whitmore, Mrs. E. T. Stevenson, of Salt I.ake City; Mrs. G. C. Riser of McGill. New He also is survived sur-vived bv three half-brothers, Dr. fitephen J,. Richards and Willard B. Richards of Salt Lake City and Calvin W. Richards of Brigham City. Dr. Richards was born in Manchester, Lancashire, England, October 11. IS 40, Yhen a young man he came to Utah with his parents. He received his early education edu-cation in the Deseret university at Salt Lake, and later graduated with a decree of doctor "ot medicine from the Bellevue Medical college of New York. His early practice was in Salt Lake, where lie was associated with the late j Dr. W. F. Anderson. He came to Provo in ISP? and for a few years practiced here, later retiring. Funeral services will be held in the Eighteenth ward chapel In Salt Lake City, Thursday nt noon, with interment in the City cemetery. |
