'The twelfth annual convocation of tlie Episcopal church in Utah opened i in St. Fuul'3. parish bouse yesterday morning. Tlie Kight Tie v. At 11 o 'clock the session was called to order by the bishop and convocation was opened for tlie transaction trans-action of business. All the clerjxy of the district and lay members from most of the parishes and missions were present. After the appointment of the usual committee?, Bisliop Touret read a report re-port of work attempted and accomplished accom-plished by him since becoming acting bishop of Utah, at the request of Hi shop Tuttle. presiding bishop of tlie church. In tlie last year, owing to a variety of troubles, Bishop Touret said lie had not been ablo to give as much attention atten-tion to Utah as he had planned, and many of the tilings hoped for had not materialized, though tlie year has showu a real progress. Bishop Touret has been able to make but three hurried visits to Utah and each of them came as a result of special spe-cial needs. Tlie influenza stopped the visit planned in the fall and the need for a visit to the Mayo Brothers hospital hos-pital postponed the intended winter visitation. Rowland hall and St. Havk 's hospital received the chief attention on two visits, and as a result of this the usefulness use-fulness and prosperity of both ware enhanced. Two clergymen left the district and will probably be replaced by men from the east. The great need of co-operating with the nation-wide campaign for the fuller accomplishment of the work of world advancement and growth was emphasized. empha-sized.
