Show Legion Resolution Advocates Advo-cates Higher Pay for Teachers. Condemnation of the sentiments expressed ex-pressed in resolutions passed at the recent re-cent convention of the Utah Federation of Labor was embodied in a resolution submitted to Wilkes Post, No. 2, of the American Legion, at the regular bimonthly bi-monthly meeting last night. The post attitude on the league of nations, however, how-ever, was not defined. The labor resolution for the adoption of the soviet form of government was condemned in the meeting, and deportation deporta-tion of all aliens connected with such a movement was recommended. A committee com-mittee of tire post will consider last night 's resolution and will act on it before be-fore the next meeting. Resolutions in favor of higher pay for teachers were submitted by T. A. O. Bruce, and read, as follows: "That this, Joseph Simmons Wilkes Post, No. 2, of the American Legion, go on record as in favor of better pay for teachers, and that delegates to the state convention be instructed to take this question before the body.'-' Delegates to the state convention are: Dee Stone, Arthur L. Flandro and C. Lamar Nelson. Alternates are: Leon D Willes, Starr W. Dunam and George Dykes. The post will meet Thursday night at Barratt hall, with al the other posts organized or-ganized in the city, for the purpose of a campaign membership drive. |
