Show FIRST HONORS WON BY B. A. C. DEBATERS Special to The Tribune. CEDAR CITY, April 20. The B. A. C. has proved that it has intellectual as well as physical giants, by carrying off the honors in both the college and high school debates with the Dixie Normal college. col-lege. The college team gained two of the three votes in its support of the negative side of the question, "Resolved, That'the United States should adopt compulsorv arbitration for the purpose of settling ail labor disputes," while the high school team carried the three votes, representing represent-ing the affirmative of the important and widely discussed question, "Resolved, That the state of Utah should adopt a graduated gradu-ated income tax for the purpose of raising rais-ing revenue." In the first contest the Dixie competitors competi-tors excelled in rhetorical construction and delivery, but were unable to answer the strong arguments of their B. A. C. opponents. |
