Funeral services for John McDonald will be held from the Cathedral of the Madeleine tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. Mr. McDonald, who died April 15, came to Utah in 1807 as manager of the Golden Gate mine at Mercur. said to be one of the largest gold mines at that time in the west. While nt Mercur he formed the acquaintance of 1). C. Jack-ling. Jack-ling. Later he became superintendent of the Utah Copper companies properties. proper-ties. I After a time spent in Nevada Mr. McDonald Mc-Donald returned to Salt Lake, making his residence at 'J422 South Third F.ast street. At the time of his death Mr. McDonald was a member of the Salt Lake council 602, Knights of Columbus, Colum-bus, and also of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He is survived by his widow and several sev-eral children. They are Miss Mary Mc-Donhld. Mc-Donhld. Mrs. Baird Spell, James. John. Richard and George, and Katherine McDonald. |
