During December of last year thirteen persons in Utah lost their lives in automobile acci-dents- Last month contributed eighteen traffic deathsfour more than during November 193it. If this year's trafic toll continues along the pattern set thus far, Utah will pile up its largest holi-day traffic toll. The only way to prevent it is for the drivers to carry the Christmas spirit and for pedestrians to do their part by being extra careful. The December traffic toll is usually the heaviest of all the year due to bad weather, more hours of darkness and the Christ-mas holiday rush. To thwart these traffic buga-boos, Mr. Hammond suggests: 1 Don't drive if you have been drinking. 2- Balance more darkness and bad weather with less speed and more caution start earlier. 3. Don't let the hustle and bustle of the holiday season make you impatient or careless when you drive or walk. Take it easv. PLEASE DO YOUR PART TO MAKE THE HIGHWAYS SAFE THIS CHRISTMAS MONTH. CHECK ACCIDENTS OFF MS LIST W. D. Hammond, Chairman of the State Road Commission, made that appeal today to drivers and pedestrians throughout the state in an effort to cut down the hea-vy December traffic toll. Not only is the appeal aimed at the blight on Christmas happi-ness, but it is a last-ditc- h fight to keep traffic fatalities this year thers association is giving a Christmas party this afternoon at two o'clock for 38 students in the band, those who are drum majors, Instructor LaVern J.
