Show LOCALNOTES Mrs- John Carroll Bates, a guest here the past six weeks of her mother and father, Mr- and Mrs. Joseph Spendlove, left Wednesday Wed-nesday evening by train for her home in Mt. Vernon, N Y. Mrs. Arthur Cook arranged a family dinner December 8 which honored her husband on his birthday. Present were Mr. and Mrs- Leo Cook and daughter, Deanna Dea, of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cook and family of Orem; Mr. and Mrs. William Cook and daughters. Miss Louise Rogers of Salt Lake City underwent a major operation Monday morning at Bingham hospital. Her condition is reported as improving. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Allen of Sandy, formerly of Highland Boy, were guests at the Highland Boy Community House Sunday. Miss Marie Button and Miss Alice Brown, deaconesses at the Community House, will leave Sunday to spend the holidays in Yukon, Okla., and Kansas City, respectively. Mrs. M. D. Starley entertained entertain-ed her foursome Monday evening even-ing at bridge. Mrs. J. J. Doyle, Mrs. L. E. Milner and Mrs. Jack Davidson were present-Miss present-Miss Althea Christensen, clerk at the local post office, has been very ill at her home at 1139 Denver Den-ver street, SaU Lake City, with influenza pneumonia. Miss Morinda Grange and Miss Lenore Lee, teachers at Highland High-land Boy school, are leaving today to-day to spend the Christmas holidays holi-days with their families in Price and Escalantc, respectively. |
