Show MAY DISPLAY LIST OF PATRIOTIC ONES Steps Being Taken to Preserve Names of All Who Aid Nation in Many-Capacities. Many-Capacities. j Special to The Tribune. , ! OGDEN, July 2$. Steps will probably be taken tomorrow evening by the board of city commissioners to preserve the names of the patriotic citizens of Ogden who have done their bit for the government govern-ment in purchasing Liberty bonds, war savings stamps, contributing to the Red Cross and otherwise doing something for the government. The plan has been suggested by Frank M. Driggs., chairman of the W. S. S. campaign cam-paign in the city and county. He says I that the men, women and children who are doing the right thing by the govern-: govern-: ment should have their names on the , war record. This record will be complete com-plete and before it is finished will, it is probable, cany the names of those who have responded to the call to the service of the country, both the men and women, the former in the various branches of the service and the women in clerical positions posi-tions at Washington and as Red CrosA nurses abroad and the laborers for the Red Cross in Ogden. In May the names of the patriotic people peo-ple of the city who had purchased third Liberty bonds and contributed to the Red Cross were added to those who had bought the first and second Liberty bonds and gave to the Red Cross. This list has been preserved and will probably be the one turned over to the city commissioners commission-ers to be preserved as a historical document docu-ment of the city. The object of preserving the names of the loyal persons of the city is to let the public, at present, after the war and in the generations to come, know who were Ihe patriotic persons and who were the slackers. It is intended to put the list where it will be public and can be seen at any time. The steps for arranging it wri!l be announced later. |
