Show MANGANESE MAN TO ATTEND CONFERENCE t Thomas Tj. MeCarty, president of the I.ilx-rtv Manganese company, announced veptfnlav that he would leave for Washington Wash-ington today to attend the conferenre of inanpanese, tungsten, chrome and pyrites producers to he held in Washington on December 16. This gathering of the men who are dt-reL'tlv dt-reL'tlv concerned in the production of the metals named in the war minerals bill is expected to have a vital bearing upon future legislation pertaining to the subject sub-ject of metals of this classification. . Prior to his departure Mr. McCarly said that in his opinion something would have to be done speedily to save the industry in-dustry from grave injury. Under present conditions, he stated, the manganese market has lapsed into a condition where there is no demand worth considering for the product, yet, based upon representations representa-tions made in the war minerals bill, many thousands of dollars have been expended ex-pended by various producers.
