Mclntyre. riding Poppee. was sailing along In front of his rivals when suddenly the filly stumbled and threw the rider over her head into the mire. Mclntyre. landed on his shoulders and executed a circus fall and roll that probably saved him from Perious injury. Broncho Billy, with Poppee out of it. won in a terrific stretch drive with Cheeks, which was dangerous from the beginning. Checks placed and Custom House was third. Beaumont was plenty the best of those in the first taking it pulled up. He was at no time in danger. Hester H., 12 to 1, was an easy victor in the second. The filly got up entering tho stretch and had plenty of reserve. Nifty lasted belter than Thistle Betle to get the third race in a drive. The race wa-s entirely up to these two every foot of the way. Quarter, the favorite, raced Blackthorn, who had beat the barrier, winning by five lengths. Yignola was third.
