Show Coffee Futures. NEW YORK, Feb. 5. Reports of an easy turn in the cost and freight situn-tion situn-tion and a bearish view of political affairs af-fairs seemed responsible for further liquidation in the market for coffee futures fu-tures today. There also was some selling by trade interests, and, after opening one to six points lower, active months sold nine to eleven points under Saturday's closing figures. May eased off from S.:i9c to S.32c and closed at S.3oc bid. with the general list closing at a net loss of six to nine points. Sales (estimated), 10,000 bags. February, $.21 c: March. 8.26c; April, S.30c; May, 8.35c; June. 8.3Sc; July. 8.41c; August, S.45c: September. 8.50c; October, S.53c; November. S.56c; December, 8.59c; January, 8.63c. Spot, quiet; Rio 7s. 10c; Santos 4s, lO'c. Cost and freight offers were lower, low-er, with Santos 4s said to be offering here at 10.20c, London credits, neutral steamers. steam-ers. The official cables reported no change in Brazilian markets except a decline of 175 rets in Santos futures, but private cables reported a further decline in Pantos futures today, which doubtless promoted some of the selling here. |
