Show BURG01M 1 SHARP GIVEN 1EIW Republican County Delegates Dele-gates Meet at Murray and Make Selections! George T. Sharp for county commissioner commission-er and E. L. Burgon for assessor were selected by the Republican county delegates dele-gates from the districts outside of Salt Lake City to represent them on the Republican Re-publican "county ticket, at a caucus held yesterday afternoon at Murray. Mr. Burgon was selected on the. first ballot bv a vote of S8 against 56V for J. W. Cahoon, the only other aspirant for the office from the county! districts. Mr. Sharp met with more opposition, and two ballots were necessary lor a selection. selec-tion. He was opposed by J. H. Wheeler, W. W. Wilson, J. 1. Peterson and R. G. Lambert. Mr. Wilson led on the first ballot, after which Mr.. Wheeler retired In favor of Mr. Sharp. Chairman F. H. Rudy and Secretary J. S. Barlow of the caucus and the tvo candidates can-didates were selected as a committee to conduct the campaign of Mr. Sharp and Mr. Burgon. The caucus also appointed five members of the Salt Lake county Republican committee com-mittee to serve for the ensuing two years and two members each for the three convention con-vention committees. The county committeemen com-mitteemen are Dr. F. E. Straup of Bingham, Bing-ham, Samuel Howard of Rlverton. J. W. McHenry of Murray, Gaurdello Brown of Farmers ward and A. L. Reed of Tleas-a.nt Tleas-a.nt Green. For the platform committee, L. E. Lauretzen and William Mines were appointed ap-pointed ; fnr the credentials committee, Alfred Robbins and Horace Godfrey, and for the committee on permanent organization organ-ization and order of business, O. W. Carlson Carl-son and Thea Schweitzer. Delegates from the five municipal wards of the city will caucus tonight nt tlie city and county building to select their county and convention committeemen. |
