Show I CONIFREY BEATEN; FRIENDS START RIOT By International News Service. NEW YORK, Sept. 14. Benny Leonard Leon-ard defeated Frank ie Conlfrey in the sixth romua at the Empire A. C. tonight. The flsht was fairly even up to the sixth, when a shower of rights and lefts to the head had Conifrey "out on his feet." Referee Florrie Berne tt was about to slop the battle when one of Conifrey's seconds jumped Into the rin. A riot followed. Hundreds of Conifrey's Coni-frey's friends figured he was not getting a square deal and they hurled bottles and chairs Into tlie ring. Newspaper men and Chairman Fred Wenck of the state boxing commission, who occupied seats at the ringside, were forced to seek shelter shel-ter under the platform. |
